SEAMEO Regional Language Centre

The SEAMEO Regional Language Centre (RELC) is a leading language teacher education centre under the Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organisation (SEAMEO). SEAMEO RELC has played a pivotal role in providing language education and training for many in the region and beyond.  The Centre is also well respected for its publications, its consultancy work for assessment in language use and its professional standing as a Centre of choice for training. In its over 44 years of existence, SEAMEO RELC has trained more than 37,000 professionals from Southeast Asia and beyond.


SEED

SEED Institute
NTUC’s SEED Institute is built upon a vision to give children the best head-start by grooming early childhood professionals to provide the best care and education to young children. SEED Institute was set up in 1989 by the NTUC, in collaboration with the Bernard van Leer Foundation, a Dutch private philanthropic foundation that funds and shares knowledge about work in early childhood development. Today, SEED Institute is recognized as the pioneer in early childhood education and comprises five Centres of Excellence specialising in areas such as research and best practices, continuous professional development, higher education, professional qualifications and regional partnership.


Singapore Aviation Academy

Singapore Aviation Academy, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore
The Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA) is the internationally recognised training arm of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. It has trained over 52,000 participants from over 190 countries since 1958, offering a wide range of aviation training programmes for both operational and top-level aviation management personnel, with a world class airport at its doorstep for on-site training. SAA was conferred the prestigious 34th Edward Warner Award in 2000 by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) “in recognition of its eminent contribution as a centre of excellence in international civil aviation training”. 


SCE

Singapore Cooperation Enterprise
Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) was formed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore to address the growing number of foreign requests to tap into Singapore’s developmental experience. SCE works closely with Singapore’s 15 ministries and over 60 statutory boards and is the focal point for access to expertise in these public agencies, offering foreign parties customised solutions to meet their developmental needs.

The Singapore Customs Academy is the training arm of the Singapore Customs, the lead agency responsible for the implementation of customs and trade enforcement measures including those related to free trade agreements and strategic goods. Globally, Singapore is recognised as one of the leaders in the field of e-Government. eGL is a centre set up within the Institute of System Science and draws its knowledge from the Singapore government’s more than 30 years of effort in computerisation and e-Government implementation. eGL’s mission is to help government leaders innovate and transform through the provision of education, research and advisory services so as to accelerate economic development in their countries.

Singapore Environment Institute (SEI) is a training division and knowledge centre in the National Environment Agency (NEA) with its core strengths in the areas of environmental governance and management. The Institute aims to promote as an environment hub, by providing thought leadership on environmental sustainability and management for high-density, compact cities, and to spark the development of innovative environment solutions.  Its work also includes developing and managing a variety of learning programmes to enhance the competency of environmental professionals and share Singapore’s environmental experiences.

Singapore General Hospital (SGH) is the public sector’s flagship hospital. Established in 1821, SGH is Singapore’s oldest and largest acute tertiary hospital and national referral centre offering a comprehensive range of clinical specialities and clinical support services in the region. Its SingHealth Alice Lee Institute of Advanced Nursing (Alice Lee IAN) acts as a teaching hospital providing a comprehensive range of nursing specialised programmes and practice-based training in Singapore. In March 2007, the SingHealth Alice Lee IAN became the first in to earn international recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Centre (ANCC), the largest nurse credentialing centre in the world. 


Singapore Media Academy

Singapore Media Academy (SMA), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore’s largest media company Mediacorp, was established in 2005 to offer training, educational and consultancy services to address the needs of the local and regional media industries. SMA has conducted training under the Singapore-Commonwealth Broadcasting Association Third Country Training Programme to assist Commonwealth developing countries’ transition from analogue to digital broadcasting. Over the course of the past three years, SMA has also supported countries such as Malaysia, Myanmar, Bhutan, China, Taiwan, Thailand and Bahrain in areas of Broadcasting and Media training as well.

The Singapore Mediation Centre (SMC) is the flagship mediation centre of Singapore. SMC believes in strengthening institutions and empowering individuals through the promotion of peaceful means of dispute resolution. SMC conducts training workshops in on a regular basis for government organisations, tertiary institutions, professional and trade associations and business organisations. The reputation of SMC as a premier training institution has generated training work in Austria, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Fiji, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Malta, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.

The Singapore Productivity Association (SPA) was set up in 1973 as an affiliated body of the then National Productivity Board, now Standards, Productivity and Innovation Board (SPRING Singapore). Its mission is to raise the productivity of organisations and individuals in Singapore. The Association organises conferences and seminars, short courses, talks and company visits to propagate the acquisition of knowledge and skills. Longer courses focusing on management competencies to drive improvements in market share, reduce costs and to improve service are also available. Since 1994, the Association has trained some 1,000 foreign participants in various programmes conducted for a number of organizations.

SSTC School For Further Education
SSTC School for Further Education is a business, secretarial, hospitality and language training institute established in 1978. Registered with the Council for Private Education, SSTC offers standard programmes in English, Administration, Business and Hospitality Management and customised programmes upon request. 


The Subordinate Courts

The Subordinate Courts are a critical component of the judiciary and exist to serve the people of Singapore by delivering quality justice. Their mission is to provide an effective and accessible system of justice, inspiring public trust and confidence. More than 95% of all judicial matters in Singapore are dealt with in the Subordinate Courts, which hear civil, criminal, juvenile cases, and family matters. 


Supreme Court

The Supreme Court of Singapore stands at the apex of what is widely acknowledged as one of the most effective and efficient court systems in the world. In the 2011 International Institute for Management Development (IMD) World Competitiveness Yearbook, Singapore topped the rankings under the criteria of “Legal and Regulatory Framework” and in the 2011 Political and Economic Risk Consultancy (PERC) report, Singapore was ranked the second strongest judicial system in Asia among 12 jurisdictions surveyed. A visit to the Supreme Court provides participants with insights into the administration of justice in Singapore, especially in the areas of judicial reform, court technology and case management initiatives. Participants will also have the opportunity to view live demonstrations of the various technological facilities available in the courthouse.
